Dental Implants

Dental implants offer solutions for replacement of missing teeth that make it possible to restore your smile to proper function with a natural-looking appearance.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a small cylinder that is placed in the jaw bone by the oral surgeon to replace a tooth root. As the implant site heals, the jaw bone will grow around the implant to hold it securely in place, or ‘integrate’.

Whether you are missing one tooth or multiple teeth, dental implants can be used in a variety of ways to rebuild your smile.

A single dental implant may be restored with a ceramic crown designed by one of our dentists to allow you to chew properly and smile without embarrassment. And, the best part about a single dental implant, it does not require drilling on adjacent teeth (as with a dental bridge). It's no surprise that dental implants have become the standard of care for replacing a single missing tooth whenever possible.

Multiple dental implants are often used to stabilize a partial or complete denture. Your Sprayberry dentist will work with the oral surgeon to determine the best placement sites for the implants, and then coordinate with the dental laboratory to design an implant denture with attachments that allow it to lock into place.

The secure feeling that implant dentures provide is remarkable - no more slipping dentures while talking or eating! Our implant denture patients often comment on what a difference dental implants have made for them, especially the boost in self-confidence they experience with their new, beautiful smile!
